  •  Just about every cow alive today has been born (0+ / 0-)

on a ranch. The problem isn't quantity, it's quality.

The real problem is, we've reduced beef production into a high-yield, assembly line, mass production model. we removed the humanity, we've removed the connection between animal husbandry and how it can fit within the natural carbon cycle, and because of it, we've made it so damned cheap Americans are eating like 26 billion pounds of it a year. Way too much by any standard.

We don't have to give up meat, we just have to come to a re-understanding of how it fits in with the natural cycle of life, and within our natural health requirements, and then choose our sources wisely.

We need to take the middle-man mega-processor out of the equation and get people back to buying direct from ranch to table. The only middle-man between a person and a steak right from a farm should be a local butcher.

Physics is bulls**t. Don't let them fool you. Fire IS magic.
