    So, short of taking over a country (something the UN isn't THAT good at . .. ), this is a tad more difficult of a problem than throwing $30  billion at it (which is indeed a rather trivial amount of $$s).
    Is that real money? Perennially, would that much money make a difference or even eradicate starvation over a decade. After all, that's way north of a half trillion dollars.

    Those are rhetorical questions, btw.

    Actually, $90 billion's the amount of money our government gave away in 2006... in corporate subsidies and tax breaks. A little more than half that to all social programs combined. (SS and Medicare not included)
