    is to give wall street more money before they even ask for money.

    It's foolish to think that any administration will EVER bite the wall street hand unless we finally get money out of politics.

    So, never really.

    •  I don't think that this is entirely about (6+ / 0-)

      campaign finance.  It is a huge factor, admittedly, but I think that we are living through a particularly corrupt era in this country and I don't think that that corruption is entirely driven by money.  

      Reagan began the process of talking Americans out of their souls  and ultimately after years of chipping away at the fiber of what it meant to be American - real acts of patriotism that most Americans participated in almost daily without even thinking about them were supplanted by yellow ribbon magnets made in China, among other things.  Janet Jackson's boob reveal was more scandalous than prosecuting a war under false and fabricated pretenses.  Then - Surprise! - the "ownership society" that Bush claimed to be building did not actually exist.

      Now we are entering the next phase where people may figure out what they have lost.
