  •  Great Stewart Rant... (10+ / 0-)

We on the Eastern Seaboard will just have return the same help when we finally get to see the 1st Category 6 Hurricane hit (Insert Name of Red Gulf Coast State Here).

Clear away the rubble by hand and pitch a tent while you build that! Sorry to hear about your troubles...

It's not like they would actually will pay towards Sandy Relief if it had passed... Aren't most of these states the "Welfare States" anyway where they receive in excess of $1 back for every $1 they pay in taxes?

    •  Sorry, but we cannot POSSIBLY afford to help (12+ / 0-)

you in your time of need WITHOUT killing what is left of the safety net.

      Bummer.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

in those states already.  They get to treat their residents like dirt and then try and treat the rest of the country that same way without penalty, because the only penalty could come from the people of those states, some of which had not a single county go for Obama.

          On the money.

Wages are so low that most folks there get federal benefits paid for by the rest of the country.  And wages will never go up because they have Right to Work (for less) Laws on the books.  If that's not bad enough, their kids won't be able to move up the virtually non-existant "ladder of opportunity" because tey don't get decent educations because there may be no state income tax to fund them or that the education funds are siphoned off to give tax breaks to corporations.

For the most part, they end up as net tax receivers while states on the eastern seaboard are net tax payers.  It's an endless cycle of fail.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.
