    Sexism is not a good way to fight sexism. And what's with the movie quote. Who cares what someone in some movie said? I suspect the diarist wouldn't want me quoting a line from Julie and Julia, as if it was true.

      The rhetorical device is quite clear:

      Women have the ultimate responsibility to control men, oh really?!

      Logically, this leads to questions about whether men are adults or even human beings.  ... The implied subtext is “boys will be boys” and therefore cannot control themselves or be responsible for themselves. Men should be pissed about this implication.

      It's just the old argument that rape culture insults men as well as women, rephrased in a slightly less than clear way.  It wasn't meant literally.
