Their fiduciary responsibility is simple—make money for their investors, period.   The American people have no effing clue when it comes to money.  They'd rather just yell into the wind at whomever some talking head tells them is at fault then learn some basic facts about capitalism, you know, the system we all function in every damn day.

I'm always amazed when I hear people get all "shocked" and "apalled" when their friend's job was cut or replaced by a younger, cheaper worker.  Or when the global multinational is hoarding profits overseas to avoid paying taxes, or lobbying the government to make the deal sweeter for those who already have everything and screw over the workers.

Of course, these are usually the same folks who scream socialism when anyone tries to stop any of that from happening.

As a country, I think Americans understand the least about how their economy and economic system actually works.

The priest said, "Today's sermon is called 'Liars', but first I have a question. How many of you have read Chapter 66 in Matthew?" Nearly every hand went up. "You're just the group I need to speak to," the priest said. "There's no such chapter."
