    When I was in sixth grade or something, a classmate of mine got a bad test or a bad grade on an assignment.  She said something along the lines of "ugh, I'm going to kill myself" and class ended a few minutes later.

    The girl was then quietly taken to the main office and the school psychiatrist talked to her about the hyperbole.  No yelling, no screaming and the fact was the girl was just really upset she got a bad grade.  

    Nonetheless, I liked the idea that they didn't take a chance and calmly spoke to her.  A lot of children around that age could use an impartial voice to talk to.
