  •  Thought I'd add this GEM (6+ / 0-)

Debbie Riddle on education in a 2003 interview with the El Paso Times:

"Where did this idea come from that everybody deserves free education, free medical care, free whatever? It comes from Moscow, from Russia. It comes straight out of the pit of hell. And it's cleverly disguised as having a tender heart. It's not a tender heart. It's ripping the heart out of this country."
The only way this woman wins elections is because no one cares enough to seriously run against her. I could take that single quote and defeat her.

    •  I'd love to unleash my now-deceased Grandma on her (0+ / 0-)

My Grandma constantly drilled into my head the importance of public education in making this country great and giving everyone an opportunity to succeed. Ms. Riddle attended public schools and is not willing to pay it forward. Selfish bigot.
