  •  Boy may have been falling into the mania and (9+ / 0-)

accompanying paranoia that is swirling on how to best defend oneself in a gun-rich country such as the USA.  Perhaps a bit too much of the same messages that were drummed into the Newtown shooter's head by his mother, from reports I've read.

In other words, any type of concealed gun is a potential threat for themselves and to others, in this case - and, it may be part of the larger problems we're finally discussing more openly.

"So, please stay where you are. Don't move and don't panic. Don't take off your shoes! Jobs is on the way."

    •  I have no idea why he brought it to the game (7+ / 0-)

but do agree it is important for us to be able to ask why, and hopefully learn some answers about why this happened --- and gain some understanding.

Someone in this thread suggested it might have been a "Christmas" present and...

Maybe he was having fun with it?
      Begs two questions for me:

Was the youngster just "having fun" when he (allegedly) pointed his weapon at a police officer(s)?

Does that action sound like "fun" to anyone here?

      Thank you for your comment.
