  •  Here's his money quote (19+ / 0-)
We know where the Republicans are coming from.  What about the Democrats?  Will President Obama fulfill his campaign pledge to “protect the middle class” or will he surrender to right-wing blackmail?  Will Democrats in the House and Senate stand with the vast majority of our citizens and such organizations as AARP, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, the AFL-CIO, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and every other veterans’ organization in the fight against cuts to Social Security and veterans’ programs, or will they agree to a disastrous corporate-backed “chained CPI” concept which makes major benefit cuts to those programs and raises taxes on low-income workers?

The simple truth is there are relatively easy ways to deal with the deficit crisis – without attacking the elderly, the children the sick or the poor.

    •  Bluff, eh Nancy? (11+ / 0-)

I think she's lying.  If it comes to cuts and/or Chained CPI, she'll vote for it.

She did stupid things like, on a Friday morning, resurrect the dead-as-a-doornail FISA fiasco in '08 and shoved it through the House with "debate" limited to one hour where Reps who previously voted against it lied about their sudden conversion to pass the unconstitutional bill.  Voting was done by noon, and it was hand-carried to the Senate that afternoon.  [I watched the whole train wreck on C-SPAN that day.]

The only reason the Senate didn't vote on it that day was because so many were out of town campaigning.  The following Mon or Tue they had to go to someone's funeral (I forget who).  On Wed. they voted for it, including Obama who had previously said he wouldn't vote for it if the telecom immunity was intact.  It still was and he still voted for it.  Three days after that Obama said if he were elected he would retain Dumbya's 'office of faith-based initiatives' which is run out of the White House, expand it, and increase funding for it.  Rather a stupid statement coming from a person who is supposed to be a constitutional expert (or, who at least taught the Constitution at the college level).

That was a horribly depressing week for me.

Nancy "Impeachment-is-off-the-table" Pelosi was one of the honchos who knew Bushista secrets before we did, like about torture.  Refusing to impeach Dumbya and Dickie and the other lying war criminals I think makes Nancy a traitor to the US - or, at least a person who broke her vow to uphold, protect, and defend the US Constitution.

I see your Bluff and raise you a Retirement, Nancy.  Retire from the House on the grounds you want to spend more time with family and go back home, become a granny hausfrau and bake cookies with your grandkids.  I no longer care much where she goes as long as she leaves the US House of Representatives.

We get enough lies from Repukes.  We don't need Repuke lies coming out of the mouths of purported Democrats.

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
