    global warming in his first 4 years of any of the players via milage standards for cars and it had nothing to do with legislation. I notice too that tax credits for wind were part of the tax deal.

    Actions via the executive branch might well be the only effort possible.

    I'd really like to see a broad country wide investment in conservation, and public transport infrastructure but I think that would take congress approving money.. Energy is like drugs, you can't cut off supply, only demand.

      Energy is very different than drugs, very.  If you make certain forms illegal they aren't going to be used.  No one is going to be setting up illegal coal plants in their basements to sell dirty energy to those on their block.  It just won't happen.

      What we need is energy rationing, and soon.  We need to stop pretending like taxes or cap and trade are going to do anything and take some real action.

      The revolution will not be televised. But it will be blogged, a lot. Probably more so than is necessary.
