he doesn't even hold any formal position in any church, never mind any political body in the USA.  The man has made himself a laughingstock many times over by predicting God's judgement on the USA in 1982, predicting a nuclear terror attack in 2007 that would destroy parts of the United States, and that the US would turn "socialist" in 2009.  He most recently predicted that someone who was not Obama would win the 2012 election in a landslide.  So far, whatever God has been talking to Pat has gotten it all wrong.  Except for the socialism.  Please explain to me where Robertson's lobbying or legislation-writing power has made a itself felt in the American electorate, because frankly - I just don't see it.  He's 83 years old, and a completely seething crackpot.  I don't think we should give him a second thought.

We will be a generation rooting out these fungal spores and cleaning up after their influence in our Justice Department.

Rev. Pat's vision still being fulfilled today. He's made himself relevant for quite a while.

Almost 10 year old Daughter: "Boys are pretty good, but daughters have sentimental value." Me: "I don't think that phrase means what you think it does." Daughter: "None of them do, Mom. More's the pity. Words have to be flexible in today's world."

Do you think that maybe he's on television every day because nobody pays attention to him?  Damn, he's practically the American Baptist Pope.

is based upon the fact that Robertson has lost his 'mainstream' bona fides, long long ago, and should not be featured as a front-page topic because it just gives him more press.  "Lockdown" and "Gilligan's Island" are on television every day too, and they aren't guiding public policy.  If this were 1977 I might see Pat Robertson as relevant, or when he ran for President a few years later.  Since then - not so much.  At the time I first objected to the relevance of this story my complaint was based on 'front paging' it.  Well it got front-paged, as I expected it would.  We have better things to put on our front page.  Animal Nuz is far more relevant on our front page.

And no, I don't put him in the same class as Limbaugh, because Limbaugh is actually engaged in influencing politicians and legislative bodies through his microphone.  Robertson is so far off the beaten track of policy that there is no track.
