I think we're all gravely concerned about stolen and trafficked guns.

about this. Why would some be more than others? Do you think that the victims of violent crimes with stolen guns are somehow selected by some specific criterion? While I do currently live in a low-crime, rural area, I previously lived in a "gang-designated" zone that was urban, and we had stray bullets come through houses as well as burglaries on my street. I've personally been mugged once at gun point in San Francisco as well something like twenty years ago (while with a group of people, no less).

So if you're singling out those who live in lower income, urban areas, I'm sorry but that's just inappropriate because there are huge social factors for why people can't choose to just up and move and besides which, home is home. I really don't know what you're getting at, thus, but I do think 150% that we need to stop stolen and trafficked guns considering that they are -- according to Sen Gillibrand -- responsible for 90% of violent crimes! That's simply outrageous and obviously a strong priority to be dealt with. I had no idea it was this high of a %.

And specifically did not "single out" anyone.

I too have experienced first-hand the horrid damage wrought by gun violence.

        All too well.

But there have been comments in some diaries here and in other forums that suggest resistance to any proposed attempts to improve our state and federal laws and regulation of firearms --- e.g., 'We don't need any more laws... just enforce the laws already on the books (blah, blah, blah),' and such.

Clearly, there is room to improve state and federal measures to address all the issues and factors you describe.

Not to mention, attitudes about guns and gun violence at all levels of society?
