Why should I pay for their negligence?

If they actually were as trustworthy as the NRA types keep claiming, even $5 million in insurance wouldn't amount to more than a few hundred dollars per year.

If the risk they pose is higher than that and they can't pay it, they should not own guns.

    •  JMcD - would we claim that adding a few hundred $ (3+ / 0-)

to the annual cost of any other constitutional right was "fair"?

      "let's talk about that"

    •  NRA types?? STOP IT! There will be no discussion (0+ / 0-)

if you constantly stereotype people. I know a number of gun owners who hunt to feed their families. Do they need guns, why yes they do because they are among the working poor, the ones who fall thru the cracks. They can eat much better if they get a deer or two a year. BTW, virtualy eveyone I know with guns including myself has trigger locks gun safes and store amo in a different place than the guns, been thru gun safety courses, in fact some of them teach them.
