global requirements. We fail in our desire to distribute the food we produce because the only motivation to do so would be monetary profit. The task would be no more difficult than the extant distribution systems we have build for auto parts and military material. Moreover, abundant food production requires the labor resources of only about 1.5% of the workforce.

Almost all of the constraints of modern society are self imposed, ideologically driven acts of public stupidity ultimately built on a foundation of sand: "We can't afford it!" "We're running out of money!" "The children . . .!" In other words, it comes to false beliefs and myths about money. That was the real beauty of the Platinum Coin Debate. It called attention to the fact that money itself is nothing tangible at all, and that "money things" like dollar bills and trillion dollar platinum coins are only what we accept them to be. Then you can look a a dollar's worth of gold and realize its worth is also intrinsically nothing. Less valuable than even the dollar bill that bought it, for that at least can be used for fuel.

value. The system that miraculously transforms energy from the sun into the lush paradise that makes other critters who feed on plants and then also feed on other critters possible. I didn't really get in a both emotional and intellectual way that human society is entirely dependent on food production until I read "Guns, Germs and Steel" several years ago. Money is a human abstraction.

Love = Awareness of mutually beneficial exchange across semi-permeable boundaries. Political and economic systems either amplify or inhibit Love.

        Money is a human abstraction
it appears to be THE human obsession, an objective in itself rather than a tool for achieving societal goals and human fulfillment.
