    Check this peach out:

These guys want to build a walled community of 3-4,00 on top of an Idaho mountaintop.
They offer a no down, no interest on a 30 year leased home that will be made of concrete. The lessee is required to finish the interior of the home at his own expense.
All residents will be mandated to drill with and shoot rifles weekly, and all boys 13 and older are required to hit a target 7 times out of 10 shots.

All disputes will be handled by a town council.

...and, the main employement will be in a gun and ammunition factory within the walls.

I'm and Idahoan. Mountains here are covered in snow for up to 9 months a year. It would be more comfortable to live in a tent than a concrete house. And the county they're looking at has, as it's largest community, a town of 3,000 people.

The average lease will cost $1180 a month, and applicants have to fork over a $250 application fee. Then they get to fork over $1,000 to join.

There are so many levels of fail built into this nonsense, I almost hope it will happen. The only thing I worry about is all the boneheads who will spend every nickel they have getting here, then have to way to go back to where they came from.

Right many are called, and damn few are chosen.

Idaho ain't exactly Fiji-like.  Hell, Waco ain't exactly warm in the winter either, but they flocked there too.

      •  For sure. (0+ / 0-)

It's hovering around zero here right now, and has dropped down to -19 twice over the past week or so. It dropped a foot of snow in the valley this week, and over 3 feet fell on the mountains.

I cannot think of a more miserable life than spending an Idaho winter in a perpetually cold concrete house with 7 feet of snow outside and trading through the gloom to work in a factory full of freezing cold brass and gunpowder. ANd knowing all the while that if you leave, you will lose every nickel you put into that terrible house.
