    I was a Bay Area resident when Milk was assassinated. Good for SF! Like pitbullgirl said up thread, it's sad that these public shootings are so common now. I can still hear Feinstein's quavering voice announcing the shooting.

    As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all.

      cars burning and the whole Twinkie thing. I still can't think about those days without crying. (I'm crying now, stupidly.) So many powerful things flowed out from Harvey having tossed that first rock into the pond and I am glad for each and every one but nothing will ever replace sitting on the couch at Castro Camera and listening to him talk about what was possible.
