  •  I often critize the President's policy (8+ / 0-)

    positions, but on this one, I want to express strong admiration:

    The president is using a lot of political capital for a cause that is very uncertain to be successful.  That takes a lot of guts.  Let's help him succeed.

      He used a lot of political capital to get it passed, and it was uncertain up until the second House vote.  I'm pretty sure whatever gets passed will be viewed as not good enough rather than as an improvement over what we currently have.

        Or, strong 2nd amendment advocated such as myself might believe that he went to far.

        Time will tell.

        But clearly something needs to be attempted to break the power of the gun dealers and manufacturers.

        the 2nd amendment is for the American people, and Corporations are not people, my friend.
