    part of this problem is that state legislatures are allowed to draw their own district lines.  EVERY state should be required to do as CA does, an independent commission to draw the lines fairly.  

    I am not a legal scholar, however it seems to me that you cannot have fair elections if you do not have rules that are equal.  Right now we know that the house is not fairly elected, and the R's are in power because of their manipulation of lines, not because they actually have more support in this country.

    It is time to push for district lines to be drawn fairly and in the same way across the country, that is one of the ways that we can at least assure fair results in our elections.

    the current GOP has no regard for fairness and popular vote, they only care about manipulating a system and not counting the votes.  That is not a democracy.

    •  I wonder if voters could put up for a vote (0+ / 0-)

      to get rid of gerrymandering in each state.  That can be done.
