  •  Oh Kv. (10+ / 0-)

I'm so sorry.  :(  Thank you for the shout out; I'm glad I was able to help, tangentially or directly.  Any and all advice or guidance I provided was first gifted to me when I dealt with kidney disease in my own sweet Grady, who passed at age 19 in March of 2009.  It's only fitting to pay it forward.

I'm also so sorry about lynxie.  It sounds like a congenital heart issue, frankly.  It's so important to just love every day as if it is the last, you know?

I agree. Cats sometimes don't display symptoms until the very last minute.

We had one who was not only apparently fine, but exceptionally muscular and athletic. He went so quickly that we barely had time to run with him to the vet's office, right around the corner. He'd been eating and acting completely normal 1 1/2 hours before he died. And it was a congenital heart problem. He was only 7.

We were very lucky that he decided to let go during the day, and on a Saturday at that. I can't imagine waking up to him, gone.

KV, there's some things we disagree about pretty strongly, but not this. Sincere condolences on your losses. Give yourself some time and space to grieve and process; they are members of the family, even if they're not human.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."........ "The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little." (yeah, same guy.)
