and in NJ, the Democratic machine bosses are doing everything they can to duck a fight with Chris Christie.

They are treating  seasoned, smart, liberal-to-moderate State Senator Barbara Buono as if she did not exist.

She's ready to run against Christie... none of the Old Boys will step up. But they won't fall in line behind her because penis.

So they give more power and momentum to the Man Who Would be King.

    •  NJ doesn't map the country well (5+ / 0-)

It's a blue state that elects non-crazy Repubs sometimes. Say what you will about Christie but he's no Rick Scott or Michelle Bachman (although I do wish he'd sit on them sometimes). He'll almost certainly get reelected but he's never going to be president, and none of that has anything to do with 2014.

NJ is absolutely an outlier at this time.

and if you think Christie has nothing to do with 2014, you don't follow politics.  His 2016 plans will be cemented if 2014 looks anything like 2010.

If he does anything less than kick ass this year,  his status in the GOP will be fatally gored.
