regular chains that I just gave up.
i can barely find safe to eat products and spend hours reading labels.
so i do TJ's and WF's- and the CEO's of both would have to  do something much worse than have opinions for me to leave them.
WF's take out counter is 1/2 veg with a lot of vegan - and by veg i mean true veg. I love them for this.

you are so lucky  - if i could find something like you have i'd be there in a heartbeat.

The local coop is great. They do a very good job sourcing stuff, so it's easy to find Fair Trade, non-gmo, grass-fed, organic, etc. And they get as much as they can locally/regionally.

Personally, I try to adhere to a whole food (not the store) diet, and very very rarely buy produce shipped in from another hemisphere (e.g. fresh asparagus for me only when in season locally).

But not everyone even has those choices, unfortunately. And if TJ or WF was my only option, I'd shop there rather than the conventional supermarket, which sucks.

          familiar with them.

If there is a good coop in a not-too-distant city that you visit occasionally, consider making a bi-monthly shopping trip there. Maybe for staples, or a special occasion, or something you really want but can't get in your Wegman's. Some of our coop shoppers who are from out of town do that.
