    ...about this report. Surprisingly enough it was even worse than I expected.

    This report says absolutely nothing about implementing a real, reliable PV based electricity supply. Instead it's just a study of insolation, reaching the obvious conclusion that it's theoretically possible to power the world with PV using a relatively small share of the land area, not taking into account the need for a world wide super grid and/or gargantuan amounts of electricity storage.

    Here's a novel idea:
    Skip the PV, and power the world with nuclear, which is proven and reliable, using a hundred times or so less land.
