    Saw his live show, and Shatner was so funny. But he admitted when he actually had the offer for Stratford the year before and had no interest whatsoever. He took it the next year when it looked like a better bet.

    Honestly what makes Shatner's mannerisms so distinctive for a TV actor is all the things that would have made him a great stage actor. You have to overact on stage. Big movements, because there isn't a camera to give a close-up. Over-enunciation because the audience needs to hear.

    Film/TV need slightly different expertise to be believable. But I still love my first TV crush. :)
