Uhuru admits to Kirk that she finds him attractive, but she didn't want it to be under those circumstance
first of all it's Uhura, not Uhuru, and getting that wrong is about as bad as saying Dr. Spock instead of Mr. Spock.

second, Uhura admitted no such thing.  But Nurse Chapel says:  For so long I've wanted to be close to you.  Now all I want to do is to crawl away and die.

I hang my head in shame. I've gotten her name wrong a lot over the years.

      Here's a link to the scene: http://www.youtube.com/...

Uhura does mention that Kirk has always made her feel safe in the past. I always kind of read her comments as a subtle statement of attraction. But I guess it was pretty ambiguous (probably intentionally so).

that Uhura meant her words to be a statement of attraction, as well as trust.  she always looked to him as a powerful protector, and that is an attractive quality to a lot of women

never liked Kirk myself.  Spock was my fave, and I would have taken McCoy over Kirk!
