    We have had a lot of rain. The Sierra snow pack is 50% above normal.

    The persistent arctic air mass froze a lot of crops, though.

    The Humbolt squid only visit during El Niño years. The squid are here.

      but conditions in the equatorial Pacific never warmed enough for it to meet the definition of being an El Niño.

      The rains in Socalare likely to be scanty for the rest of the winter.
