  •  Yet another reason why (16+ / 0-)

    I don't do Facebook.

And I really hate that many of the blogs I like to read now have their commenting run through a Facebook app of some kind. Since I don't do Facebook, I have to unblock the comments sections over and over to read them. That would imply to me that I have to actually have a Facebook page to comment on them. Why? I'm not on Facebook -- I'm on a blog!

    •  our local newspaper won't let you comment... (9+ / 0-) the opinion section unless you do it via Facebook.  my opinion isn't so important that i feel the need to get on the Facebook bandwagon.  it's just as well, you can't convince a stupid person their opinion is stupid.  all the hate on Obama and liberals is beyond me wasting mental energy.  the liberal opinions who do belong to Facebook and comment often do it more brilliantly than I could but it is still beating your head against a brick wall of stupid.

on another note, if Facebook is the only way to see pictures of our grandchildren then i guess i won't be seeing those pictures.  if our children can't bother to drop the photo into an email at the same time they are posting on Facebook the what is the point of having a smartphone.  they're supposed to make those tasks so easy, right??

we gave the children a nice digital video camera just before the first grandchild was born.  did we get any decent pictures or videos?  no.  instead we got cell phone pictures that were not the best quality.  we attended the grandchild's first birthday party and i gave a gift to the parents.  a photo album filled with grainy cell phone pictures of the grandchild titled, "My Fuzzy First Year".

we still get cell phone pictures.  i give up.  pity today's children who will look back on their life of photos in decades to come in all their blurry detail.

I'm a blue drop in a red bucket.

At least all of the right-wing jackasses who commonly troll newspaper site comment threads have now either gone away or are posting under their real names.

family updates unless we got on Facebook. No thanks. If someone is too lazy or cruel to share information except on those terms, I will go without it. It's all about control.

I don't care to 'facebook', does that make me less of a person?
