    Not trying to say something in defense of the picture since it's appalling, but something tells me one guy did the pictures and another guy did the text. I don't think anybody could have done both with a straight face unless they were THAT corrupt.

      I used to do this when I was employed long ago. The illustrator does the art, the designer does the text. The page layout person puts it on the page. I would be grateful to live off the taxes of three out of four of these "examples" now. It's tough love for a 50 year old graphic artist in Michigan. I haven't had a job or an offer in over 3 years.

        Merely the WSJ's decision to use that graphic complete with the text.

        I have no idea of the brief given to the artist.

        I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
        but I fear we will remain Democrats.
