    But you are correct, such shows are very very rare.

    The examples of how supposedly "real" people live on television are all wrong and often impossible. Look at Friends in which unemployed or marginally employed people all live in 2,500 square foot apartments in New York City. Talk about fiction.

      one of our friends bought a 500-foot apartment.

      Cost him $90,000.

      No view. No amenities. Nice enough street in the West Village.
