    Aaron's death is obviously tragic.  By all accounts, he was a nice, smart kid.  And there's lots of blame to go around for what happened, including for the prosecutor, Aaron's own attorney, MIT, and Aaron himself.

    But some of the comments here are extreme.  He knew that he was breaking the law.  I'm all for civil disobedience in the name of a just cause, but if you're going to break the law to make a point, you have to be willing to accept some potential consequences.  And he wasn't.

    While the charges were harsh, the prosecutor offered him a plea bargain of six months in minimum security prison.  I certainly wouldn't want to do it, but it was something he could have gotten through.  He should have taken the offer.  He'd spend a few months in a hard place, and have a felony conviction on his record, but he'd be alive.
