    The law prohibits vote buying. It doesn't prohibit an employer from rewarding employees for voting the right way so long as the employer keeps his intentions secret until after the election. It's impossible to influence an election that's already taken place.

        And there's still the problem that criminal statutes are interpreted narrowly and the law only makes it a crime to "give, offer, or promise . . . employment."

        But, yeah, if the employer specifically told the employees that he would fire them if they voted for the President, then he might have violated the law.
