Here in the middle of super-red Oklahoma City where liberal-hatin' is a matter of course, I'm losing the fear-fight.  After the rise and fall of W, last year's non-stop lie and hate-fest nearly did me in. I keep thinking these awful people have finished crawling out from whatever rocks they live under, and we've now reached max-horror.  But no.  Every damn day it seems the lunacy rachets up another notch, and it feels to me like it's all too big to keep a lid on.  I'm just afraid all the time now. I don't even want to leave my house.  It's not that I have "liberal" tatooed on my forehead, but I'm trapped in the middle of enemy territory and I don't feel safe. "Out there" are no end of gun-totin', everybody hatin', under-educated, closed-minded, loudmouth skin heads and fundamentalists who have moved way beyond any reasoned approach to...well...anything. I don't feel like I'm among "fellow citizens" anymore.  Hell, I don't know who they are, all I know is I don't want to be around them, and it would be best to lay low. sigh Perhaps it's time for professional help!
