    of firms, there are certainly a lot of mistakes one can make in the process, but I have never, ever encountered a case where the production product did not correspond to the engineer's schematic.  In fact I cannot recall a case where a prototype PC board layout did not correspond to the schematic, but if such ever happened that would be the first thing caught in the debug process.
