    in essence, a single source and ran with that.

    His tone was wrong -- embracing style of skeptic discussion that, even as he claims to understand that global warming is real, feeds the concept of doubt.

    Etc ...

    The ecstatic embrace of Nate Silver troubled me because of that chapter. This diary points to reasons in other domains for being troubled.

    He is a very bright, very capable statistical analyst who is not perfect (who is ...) and the hagiography related to election predictions / analysis makes too many failed to incorporate that.

      But it's simply stunning how strongly people who make it into the political or media establishment feel the need to say things that their new peers want to hear, and not what's actually supported by the facts. Perhaps Nate just wanted to fit it, or succumbed to the pressure to conform to the narrative?
