    As yuckity yuck as it seems, this is probably what the government should be doing.  They're not trying to catch terrorists with stuff like weather monitoring, they're trying to help when there are disease outbreaks, weather emergencies, etc.

    I guess there's nothing wrong w/ getting a chuckle out of this stuff, but I think it plays too closely to the "black helicopter" RW framing, as if everything Big Government does is aimed at hurting people.

      classical fallacy known as petitio principii. Critics of our food security are threats to be investigated is as legitimate an assumption as that they are double checking (with all their scientific expertise) the FDA.
