..Government wants guns to flow into its territory.

Just glance at the wealth of so many PRI and PAN governors whose states border the US.  It's an open secret that its due to their alliances with the NarcoTraffickers.

Very profitable venture for both, Mexican Pols and Drug Traffickers.

If the Mexican government were serious about cracking down on the gun trade, they'd investigate the millions of dollars these "public servants" have stashed away.  Until they do, anything you hear regarding flow of guns into Mexico is just noise.

      •  Mexican Governor got Millions in Drug Cash: DEA (0+ / 0-)

It's not even an open secret.

The RightWing Parties in Mexico, PRI/PAN, benefit from drugs and arms trafficking.

Mexican Governor got Millions in Drug Cash, DEA Says

U.S. drug agents have evidence that cartel leaders paid millions to a Mexican border state governor and other figures in Mexico's former ruling party in exchange for political influence, according to a court filing in Texas.

Confidential informants told Drug Enforcement Administration investigators that leaders of the Zetas and Gulf cartels made payments to Institutional Revolutionary Party members including Tomas Yarrington, who served as governor of Tamaulipas state in 1999-2004, according to the complaint filed in U.S. District Court in San Antonio, Texas.

The affidavit says the DEA also has obtained ledgers documenting millions of dollars in payments to Yarrington's representatives.

Yarrington declined to comment when contacted by The Associated Press on Friday.

        •  So you post a link to a Fox news story... (0+ / 0-)

that doesn't contain the word gun or firearm as evidence that the...

Mexican Government wants guns to flow into it's territory.
Quite a stretching of the facts there! There are corrupt politicians just about everywhere there are politicians. But you're way out on a limb claiming that Mexican politicians want guns brought into their country. I'd say that is a blatantly false statement.

          •  My parents hail from Nuevo Leon, Mexico (0+ / 0-)

As a child, I spent many summers in that state.  I'm also familiar with Tamaulipas.

            Not a stretch at all.

Don't like Fox.  What about Proceso?

            http://www.proceso.com.mx/...

You think I'm out on a limb b/c I believe that Mexican pols benefit from and encourage arms trafficking?

I think that people who believe otherwise are very naive.
