    It's slow, but the development continues.
       That includes the various office packages.

     Most people don't realize that they don't need Windows anymore.

      Linux is sort of my thing, professionally. Specifically, Linux back-end servers running on a blade/SAN/VMWare environment, but I do Linux desktop as well.  The issue that many places have with Linux on the desktop is still Office, specifically all the templates and Visual Basic programs they have developed over the years. That and the damn Access databases. Don't get me started on those monstrosities.

      The other major problem with Linux on the desktop is the lack of accelerated 3D. This makes using Linux as any sort of serious gaming system a non-starter.
