We ask more from those with the most to give and the least to lose.  That's why, for instance, when we have a military draft, we pick 18-25 year olds, who have more to give (being on average more fit), and less to lose (having fewer dependents and being early in their careers).

Same with taxes.  We ask more from those with the most to give (the higher incomes) and the least to lose--- even 90% of 48 million won't put anyone out on the street.  Indeed, it leaves 4 million in the pocket, which is still 160 times the median income in this country.  But even 10% of 20,000 will put people on the street--- they have less to lose.

As for the actual amount of sacrifice demanded, it depends on our country's needs.  Like with anything else.

these aren't the same things at all.

Unless you have an actual argument to make to support your assertion.  But you'll need to do better than the empty word association we've grown accustomed to getting from right-wingers and their parroters.  What you all haven't figured out yet is that there actually has to be meat behind the words.  Just repeating them doesn't cut the mustard anymore.

You end up with cargo cult-style politics--- you keep doing what conservatives used to do successfully, but it doesn't work anymore, and you don't understand why.  Your loss.

I also see you supply zero evidence to support equating the determination of duties to one's country and Merriam-Webster's definition for Communism.  This doesn't surprise me, because they are not the same thing.

Just saying or implying they're the same thing doesn't cut it.  C'mon, prove it.  Maybe use those facts you're talking about?  It shouldn't be too hard if those facts exist.
