respect her faith and everyone's faith -- including non-believers. I have no problem with the praying as part of ceremonies like this, as I recognize faith is important to many Americans. Just keep religion out of my government and my kids' school.

What does everyone think an inauguration is anyway? It's not a church service, but you could fool me on that one since it had INVOCATION and BENEDICTION on the program!

      •  Good point! You're right, it was. Guess that was (0+ / 0-)

the uncomfortable part. But the anger doesn't strike with force unless the religion interferes with public policy setting -- as it unfortunately does way too much already in our country. But my point was that in ceremonies such as this, I'm a bit uneasy with it but can deal with it. For many Americans, their faith is their stress reliever, their hope, their comfort, and a part of their identity. As long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else's life or rights, I'm ok with a few prayers sprinkled in the big pomp and circumstance public events.
