After all, sensible suggestions don't draw the fire and heat that unreasonable suggestions such as the immediate confiscation of all weapons above a slingshot or TOW and Abrams for deer hunters.

Recently I saw an AK-47 (supposedly the real deal) with the provenance that it was supposedly battlefield booty.  I have an email in to the auctioneer asking if the weapon has been demilitarized or if it is in firing condition.  I am hoping the answer will be it is demilitarized but it is legal to sell in the US currently, I think, if you jump through the ATF hoops.

I have no objection to such weapons being reduced to being museum or collector items by being demilitarized.  I once priced a demilitarized Abrams.  There is no need for a hunter or home defender to have a full auto weapon firing a 7.62 round (which is roughly the US 30.06 or Brit .303)
