    True, but they have overreached. Changing the way electoral votes are awarded, combined with extreme gerrymandering, will produce such a jaundiced election result it will kill the Electoral College for good. When a Republican wins the White House with an electoral landslide coupled with a huge loss in the popular vote, the need for change will become obvious. That’s where their chicanery is leading us now.

      There's already too much blowback in the handful of places it's been mentioned for the division-of-electoral-votes-by-congresional-district to be enacted much of anywhere. In fact, I think simply succeeding in a single state will kill the whole idea by amping up the blowback.
