  •  Yes, I think a lot of what we are doing or trying (4+ / 0-)

    to do, is change the gun culture in this country.  The fanatics will scream and yell.  Over time, we need to make gun ownership or at least irresponsible gun ownership, as anathema as drunk driving.  This is accomplished with stringent and severe penalties that are enforced.

    Cats are better than therapy, and I'm a therapist.

      more guns in fewer hands is the way the US is trending. The NRA and the gun manufacturers are looking ahead... if they panic enough people they hope to reverse that... the current smaller percent of gun owners who are always "upgrading" to the newest model with extra features or the crazies stockpiling new weapons are not enough to keep sales healthy without panic buying driven by Right wing talking points, racism and conspiracy... and if a Republican is President in 2016... gun sales will go flat at best...

      Whatever they do is a Lose-lose for the Gun industry unless they can stampede significant numbers of younger Americans into joining the gun culture...
