    Being suicidal and being motivated are not quite the same thing.

    Someone like the Aurora or Norway shooter will have the patience to develop black market contacts. Others may be far more impulsive. We need better research.

    Even for the creepy long-term planners, there will be risks to the black market. Each party to a sale will have to worry that the other is an undercover cop or informant. Merchandise quality could be the same issue that it is for illegal drugs.

    Even someone suicidal could be deterred by the prospect of ignominious failure, of landing in prison for 15 years instead of making worldwide headlines.
