    And the fact that the country is changing, makes me less worried. I always thought that if he managed to get a second term, the demographic and cultural changes alone would move us ahead... even if everything he wanted to do was obstructed.

    But when I look back at what he inherited from Bush, and the hellish obstruction of the last two years in particular, I think to myself, yea, he actually accomplished a lot.  He spent 4 years helping us dig out of multiple disasters, and while we are still fragile, the tide is turning.  And now we have four more years.  

    I thought he would be a good president.  It's entirely possible he might become a great one. I think and hope that I'm seeing a pivot, and I'm not sure whether it is because of the election or whether it's that conditions have changed and he now sees more value in attack than defense.  Either way, he's starting to call them out, starting to define their limits rather than them defining his. I always suspected that there's a toughness in the man, but finally it's starting to show.  I sure hope so.
