  •  Loved seeing the birds (5+ / 0-)

Around my neck of the woods, photographing kinglets is not always easy. They stay fairly hidden in the bushes.

Your towhee is a male.  IMO, towhees, both the male and females, are among the handsomest of all birds.  Their bodies and tails are beautifully proportioned.  The female is rust colored and looks nothing like the male in coloring, but she is equally beautiful.

One thing, the birds that have been identified as song sparrows are not song sparrows but must be some other kind of sparrow.  The strong identifying mark of a song sparrow is a black (or dark) patch on the breast.

I always enjoy seeing bird diaries.  Thank you for these wonderful photographs.

The bird has been identified as a Fox Sparrow by tgypsy.

I adore the towhees and they are one of favorites.

All of you are so knowledgeable on identifying birds. Thank you so much for your help!
