  •  Oh you were there in person, weren't you? (7+ / 0-)

The sound was OK if you watched on TV.

And it should be lobster (lobstuh), not crab. I got my crustaceans confused. Hives either way, so...

It was clam chowders sauce. That sounds odd to me.

The bison steak in the berry reduction sounded interesting, though.

    •  Oh, is that the stuff they had for luncheon (3+ / 0-)

while I was waiting in the cold for the parade to start?

I made the mistake of choosing the parade route instead of the Mall (different security checkpoints).  So we had speakers and no picture.  The feed to the speakers was from NPR, so I had to put up with inane chatter during the ceremony.  (Yep, even NPR chatter seems inane to me.)

Before the ceremony, we had martial music, which is OK in small doses, but then starts to sound alike.

Between the ceremony and the parade, we had annoying pop music, much of which I had never heard.  Now, here is the problem:  In this age of big hard drives and even gazillion gigabyte iPods, do you suppose whoever were the audio powers-that-be could have given us more than twenty songs??  We heard the same songs four or five times, and even the people who liked the songs remarked on it.
