    It was inspiring to hear the president say those three names together -- Seneca Falls, Selma, and Stonewall.  The alliteration was just the rhetorical icing on the cake.

    Despite all the progress, however, it saddens me that in 2013, I still have to agree with you on this:

    Now, forty-five years later, of course, we have a mixed-race president who identifies as Black, but racism has in no way been vanquished.
    I think you put it exactly correctly -- racism has in no way been vanquished.  I can only hope it will lessen a bit as time goes by and the more accepting younger generation takes over.
