  •  no, but strip mines, oil spills, and air pollution (4+ / 0-)

do. If you really want to take the issue seriously, then you need to compare avian/bat mortality across all power generation methods.

    1. Coal: air pollution, water pollution, habitat destruction, climate change

    2. Nuclear: water pollution (heat), habitat destruction (mining for materials and fuel)

    3. Wind: collision, habitat destruction (mining for raw materials)

    4. Solar - ground mount: habitat destruction (operational and material).

    5. Solar - roof mount: habitat destruction (materials)

    •  Flie under the heading (0+ / 0-)
Wind turbines kill millions of birds but other forms of energy kill birds too so there is no need to modify the design of wind turbines.

      •  No, jam's saying that wind turbines do not appear (1+ / 0-)
        Recommended by:

to kill more birds than other forms of energy, so that is not a rational reason to prefer other forms of energy.

It is connected to but not the same as the question of whether we should make our energy production methods safer for birds.

      •  so, you don't want to have a serious conversation (0+ / 0-)

about avian/bat mortality? You just want to cast stones?
