    every species has a predator to keep the numbers from swelling beyond that which the environment can support.

    Some of those predators have been sadly wiped out by man. As such we now need hunting to keep the deer population in line.

    So while you may see one less bird at your brid-feeder, it is worth it to keep the population in check.

    My cats do a service to the community killing voles, mice, chipmunks, squirrels, and YES BIRDS TOO!

      birds, are endangered. I don't think your cats are performing a 'community service' by killing them, do you?

      And your cat is not a natural predator. Housecats are not native to North America; no more native than kudzu or Burmese pythons in the Everglades.

      And how is it a 'community service' when your cats poop in my vegetable garden?

      When atlatls are outlawed, only outlaws will have atlatls.
