  •  Then I hope you go for it. Truthfully, I don't (1+ / 0-)

know or understand enough about the FCC's role, eminent domain, etc., to effectively participate in this effort.

But I'll gladly support anyone's effort to blog about this topic, and effect the necessary changes.

    •  Sigh! Pushed the view relentlessly here (0+ / 0-)

for four or five years. I'd get "I understand, but my priorities are different" from the big names.

But nothing advances, or if it does it takes 10x as long as it should, as long as we have the media the way it is.

Wrote to Bill Moyers about the topic one week before the Clinton "scandal" (a perfect example of how media contrives our politics). Used the phrase, talking about general programming, "dumping raw sewage into the public mind" which I heard him use on his show once. ("One writer said...")

That's about my success. It blows my mind away, it's so bloody obvious that the media-as-is is the linchpin, the heart, the jugular, of the 1%'s enterprise. Yet nobody on the left goes for it. Just whines and mocks.

      •  I don't get it either. Perhaps prominent bloggers (1+ / 0-)

on the left are fearful.  The One Percent has such tremendous power and influence.

I've noticed that a radio talk show host by the name of Mike Malloy has completely changed his tune for several months now.  This change came about when his radio time slot changed, drastically minimizing his "live audience."

It was his time slot on his main source of broadcast (XM satellite radio) that moved him from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.  He even cut the price of his show podcasts by 50 percent.

But, obviously, I don't know that.

It is rather glaring, however, that we don't seem to have any "lefty" billionaires who are willing to support "left" media.  Unfortunately, when it comes to finances, I suspect they're all conservatives.  LOL!

Don't give up hope, though.  That may soon be all any of us have.

but loved listening to Malloy when I'd have the radio on while working. One of the rare honest ones. I'll have to try and catch any programs he might have on free stations.

You might be interested, if you don't have it already in this: progressive radio network http://prn.fm/

Sooner or later, the main topic will have to be dealt with. Thanks for the verification that I'm not a lone looney out here, noticing the obvious.
